Alarm Ordinance

The Village Board recently adopted changes to our alarm ordinance.  Residents and business owners are still required to obtain an alarm permit and pay a one time $35 registration fee.  However, alarm owners must renew their alarm permits no later than January 31st of each year, beginning in 2009.  While there is no charge to renew the alarm permit, failure to do so could result in a $50 ticket being issued.  The reason for this change is to ensure the police department has current information to contact residents and business owners in the event of an emergency.  The fees for excessive false alarms did not change.

*Alarm Billing System UPDATE: Remember that after the 3rd graduated false alarm, there will be a fee.  Also, if you haven't registered your alarm, you must do so immediately!
