President's Message | Spring 2022

Happy Spring, Richton Park!

Hopefully, winter has shown its last moments as we welcome spring. As the ground thaws, leaves grow, temperatures rise, and pandemic cases decrease, we are excited for a season that can finally include regularly scheduled programming! We love celebrating good times with, and for our community, and are looking forward to getting outside and enjoying our open spaces. The signs of hope and renewal are everywhere.

Being cautiously optimistic that COVID-19 is in our rear-view mirror, we must be understanding and respectful of different comfort levels with the easing of State guidelines, distance, and mask wearing. As I say, we as a community have been resilient, courteous, conscious, and aware of our environment. This is how we have been able to overcome COVID-19.

In the midst of the pandemic, Village Staff has maintained focus on what things would look like post-COVID and began looking toward fiscal sustainability, business revitalization, and investment in infrastructure. The past few months, Village staff and the Board have been working hard to present and solidify a Budget that makes sense and allows us to accomplish various Village goals, but always keeping citizens’ concerns and households in mind. I am proud to work with a Board and Staff who fights for the success and vibrancy of our community. It is vital that each resident has a voice, for it is you that we serve.

2022 will bring several new construction projects, developments, and vast opportunities to the community, improving our quality of life. Our potential is beginning to reach the masses, and we fully embrace the interest from businesses, developers, programs, new families, and of course you, our beloved residents.

Spring events and programs such as The Great Egg Hunt, Summer Camp, Building Safety Day, President’s Scholarship Golf Outing, Resident Appreciation Day, and various others are scheduled and planned with you in mind. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you!

We also would like to welcome with open arms our new Police Chief Demitrous Cook, and our new Fire Chief Mick Smith. Together they bring an extremely extensive amount of expertise, experience, culture, positivity, and progression to Village Public Safety.

There are countless ways to engage with your community - through the Village’s website at, social media such as Facebook, Nextdoor, Instagram, YouTube, apps such as SeeClickFix and Simplicity, and as always signing up for direct/push notifications at

Creating a better quality of life for Richton Park and its citizens is our priority. Along with the Board of Trustees and Staff, every single thing that we plan, do, and accomplish is to keep our residents and businesses front and center in our focus to recover and thrive into the future.

This is Richton Park. This is Your Home.
